Full Plot Summary

Stand by Me Doraemon 2 picks up where the first emotional 2014 3D CGI film left off. This time, the story focuses on two of Nobita’s most cherished moments in life — his beloved grandmother and his future wedding with Shizuka.

The film begins with Nobita discovering an old teddy bear, sparking heartfelt memories of his late grandmother. Overcome with nostalgia and guilt, he begs Doraemon to use the time machine to visit her in the past. When he sees her again, his grandmother immediately recognizes something is different about the older-looking Nobita. She tells him her wish — to see Nobita’s bride someday.

Touched by her innocent wish, Nobita and Doraemon journey into the future to the day of Nobita and Shizuka’s wedding. But to their shock, future Nobita is missing on his wedding day. Overwhelmed by anxiety and feelings of inferiority, the older Nobita has run away, fearing he’s not good enough for Shizuka.

Younger Nobita now faces a huge dilemma: should he fix his older self’s mistake? Can he really take his place in the future? With the support of Doraemon and his friends, younger Nobita embarks on a touching quest to fulfill his grandmother’s wish, fix the wedding, and help his future self find courage.

As the movie unfolds, we see a mature and emotional side of Nobita, learning to face responsibilities, embrace love, and express gratitude to those who supported him — especially Doraemon, his lifelong companion. The climax brings all timelines together, culminating in a beautiful, emotional wedding scene that fulfills his grandmother’s wish and marks Nobita’s emotional growth.
